HCL Withdrawn Sakshat Tablet Project....
A Bad News for the One who were prepared to buy Sakshat Tablet Laptop. Actually it is One of the most ambitious project kicked off by Indian government. This Sakshat Tablet was planned to distribute at a price of Rs. 1600 (35$) through ministry of HRD. This great project was handed over to HCL in June 2010. But Now a Surprise move, HCL has withdrawn this trender by giving up on the project,due to reason that HCL was supposed to raise a security deposit of $60 crores to complete this tender. The tender stands cancelled now.
According to the sources, a mail "the vendor shortlisted for the delivery of these devices has started listing some additional, unacceptable, conditions"! which was circulated inside the ministry of HRD. Government has withdrawn its role as the Sakshat tablet with HCL vendor and now planning to give this project to another vendor.
